SUMMARY
This special program is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience for lovers of participative and cultural tourism. It combines sharing with Quechua communities and local people, learning their life-style and activities and visiting their own authentic places, as well as getting to know the best places around Cusco like Machupicchu, Cusco City, Saqsaywaman, Qorikancha, Chinchero, Maras, Moray, Ollantaytambo and the Sacred Valley of the Inkas.

Day 01: CUSCO - PUMA CITY
After arrival warm welcome and transportation to your hotel, followed by a few cups of coca tea to ward off the altitude sickness. In the afternoon, we’ll drive up to San Cristobal Square to have a stunning panoramic view of the city of Cusco and then you`ll have a guided tour of the  archaeological sites of Saqsaywaman (12,140 ft), Qenqo, Puka-Pukara, and Tambomachay. Transfer to the Hotel. (L)

Day 02: WALKING TOUR EN CUSCO
You’ll visit the city with its beautiful Plaza de Armas (Main Square), which is surrounded by majestic edifices such as the huge Cathedral and the sublime Company of Jesus church. Next, a few blocks from the main square, you`ll visit the Qorikancha, one of the most important and magnificent temples of the Sun. A little farther from the center of the city, we’ll have the lunch in a restaurant called “Picanteria”, where you will enjoy the most delicious Cusqueño food. We will continue to wander through the Inka-era and colonial-era streets, and finish with a visit to the San Pedro Market to see the Andean products, textiles, handicrafts and shamanism products. Day 03: CHINCHERO - MARAS - MORAY
Drive up to Chinchero in our private van situated less than an hour away from Cusco. We’ll visit the archeological complex of Chinchero (12,342 ft) and the colonial church of “Nuestra Señora de Monserrate” with our guide. Here we'll visit our friends of the Mama Oqllo Community. We can see how these people weave beautiful and colorful textiles with the techniques and procedures of their ancestors. Then we’ll continue on to the dimensional circles of Moray (11,100 ft), a magnetic centre and power spot. Moray is a unique group of well-preserved archaeological remains, the only one in this region. Moray has very deep holes that were used to build platforms around the holes for  agriculture purpose with irrigation paths. The interesting point is how the temperature varies from the top to the bottom of the gigantic holes. Then we'll take a break for lunch, and you'll have the opportunity to explore and walk around. From Moray, we'll continue on to Maras, to the salt mines, located on a wide-open hill above the Urubamba Valley (9,500 ft). We'll round out our trip with a short walk down to the Urubamba River, from where we'll transfer to Pisaq (9,750 ft) and our hotel for the night. (B/D)

Day 04: PISAQ
After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Pisaq archeological site.  You'll be conducted on a guided walking tour around this marvelous Inka temple perched above the dizzying VilcanotaRiver, taking a rest to enjoy the stunning landscape of the Sacred Valley. Then we’ll circle back towards the town of Pisaq, where we’ll visit the Pisaq Andean Market. This is a popular and very colorful place as well, with locals dressed in traditional clothing selling locally-made sweaters, hats, and handicrafts. Hungry? Pick up some locally-grown fruits and vegetables, or even cooked meals. Visit the town's clay-oven bakeries which are famous for their “castillos de cuyes” (miniature guinea pig castles). Lunch and transfer to the lodging house in Chichubamba village where we’ll spend the night. (B/L/D)

Day 05: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INKAS
We’ll have a traditional style breakfast based on traditional "tamales" and "quinua" wheat beverage. Then you will be able to participate in and enjoy demonstrations of activities such as pottery, weaving, bee keeping, ceramics, and preparation of the locally brewed corn beer called “chicha”. For lunch we have the all-natural, locally-grown and freshly-made typical Andean dish of “cuy al horno” baked guinea pig served with corn and potatoes. In the afternoon we have a walking tour to visit the archeological site of Qhespiwara. At night we’ll enjoy a performance of the typical music of the area and enjoy tasty coca tea. Overnight. Day 06: OLLANTAYTAMBO
After breakfast we’ll leave Chichubamba for Ollantaytambo (9,200 ft). Then we’ll travel the non-paved road 19 km up along a narrow canyon lined with ancient agricultural terraces to the Village of Willoq; a native rural Quechua community located at 11,150 feet above sea level and home to a group of families rich in cultural values and renowned as the most skilled weavers of the region. There we’ll visit the school, sharing a special time with the children. Here, surrounded by mountains and the magic atmosphere, we’ll have a special offering to the mountains and mother earth called “pago” carried out by our “Paqo” or local guide. We’ll leave some gifts for the children and we’ll return to Ollantaytambo. Buffet lunch. This is a perfect place to appreciate the technology and the vast archeological remnants of Inka organization. There will be a guided tour with an expert guide. After Ollantaytambo, we'll transfer by train to Aguas Calientes (6560 ft). There, you have the option of visiting the hot springs that give the town its name. (B/L)

Day 07: MACHUPICCHU
After an early breakfast, we'll take a bus up the winding road to Machupicchu (7,900 ft) to witness the extraordinary dawn from Intipunku (Sun Door). Our hour-long scheduled visit allows you a calm, quiet visit and lets you enjoy the natural beauty and the magical environment of this masterpiece of the Andean man. You'll have a guided tour with an expert guide. After the scheduled hour, you can explore and relax by yourself, including the option to climb up Waynapicchu Mountain (8,700 ft) for spectacular view of the valley (*). After a morning of wandering through the Sanctuary of Machupicchu, we'll return to Aguas Calientes and have lunch. We'll transfer from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo by train, and by bus proceed back to Cusco.  We'll check into our hotel and spend the night there. (B/L)


Day 08: CUSCO – LIMA
In the morning, we will take you to the Cusco airport for your flight to Lima, in time to catch your international flight. (B)
