APU AUSANGATE TREK
07 Days - 06 Nights
SUMMARY
Located 100 kilometers southeast of Cusco, the Apu Ausangate comprises one of the most inhospitable and extraordinary areas of high Andean Perú, considered the largest and the highest glacier after the Cordillera Blanca in the Callejón de Huaylas (Huaraz).
The road to Apu Ausangate is an amazing and indescribable adventure that gives the opportunity to experience the geography and harsh climate as well as admire nature. Pass through beautiful Andean landscapes, magnificent glaciers, lakes, lagoons and rock formations. We’ll appreciate, at more than 16,000 feet of altitude, stone forests, ice tongues, enjoyable sunrises, sunsets and unforgettable starry nights. We also travel through picturesque villages typical of the highlands with its inhabitants living in the Andes more than 13,000 feet above sea level, while retaining their traditional dress, their language, their customs, their amicable manner and hospitality. We may also appreciate how they engage in their traditional daily activities such as farming, grazing their camels and the spinning and weaving of colorful garments. This is your opportunity to get closer to see the world from the peaks of the Apu Ausangate.
